Rapid Prototyping

Rapid Prototyping has changed the face of risk management within the industrial design industry. It has made it possible to produce highly accurate models of assemblies and parts rapidly from exported digital 3D data.

Rapid prototyping takes virtual designs (from CAD) and transforms them into thin horizontal cross sections, laying each cross section in physical space, one after the next until the model is finished.
There are several processes available, all of which are forms of 3D printing which include InVision, Fused Deposition Modelling, Rapid Machining, Stereo Lithography Apparatus (SLA) and Object Printing. CMD also works with Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Wax deposition and Z-corp.
