Extrusion

Extrusion is a manufacturing process used to create long objects of a fixed cross-sectional profile, it is a cost effective method of producing items like enclosures or tracking. Sections are usually produced in Aluminium, PVC or Santoprene, but can be made using many other materials, and may be continuous (producing an indefinitely long material) or semi-continuous (producing many short pieces).

This process is particularly suitable for heat sinks in Aluminium and is a cost effective alternative to sheet metal for enclosures requiring scalable volume production as it allows for more scope for post aesthetic treatments such as anodising.
